NiCo Mining Corp., through its majority-owned subsidiary
Resource Capital Group Cameroon Ltd. (RCGC), controls
four
Exploration Permits (EPs) in the Lomie area of SE Cameroon. The EPs
fall within the nickel-cobalt laterite province first identified by
the UNDP in the period 1981 to 1986. The EPs are adjacent to the
Mining Permit of Geovic Cameroon PLC, whose successful exploration
program has enabled it to declare a significant laterite-hosted
nickel and cobalt resource.
The EPs are located in the Haut Nyong District of
the East Province of Cameroon, to the east of the town of Lomie.
The exploration rights held by RCGC consist of
four exploration permits; Lomie I, with an area of 977.1 km2, Lomie
II, area 964.4 km2, Lomie III, area 846 km2 and Lomie IV, area 302
km2. The concession areas are so shaped as to include as many mafic
intrusive bodies as possible within each permit area. EPs Lomie I
and II were granted on 25th April 2007, Lomie III on 13th June 2007
and Lomie IV on 3rd April 2008.
The EPs are valid for three years and may be extended
for up to four times for period of two years. |
