NiCo is an exploration and development company focused on Nickel
and Cobalt Mineral properties in Africa.
The Company currently holds three Exploration
Permits (EPs) in the Lomie area of SE Cameroon. The EPs fall within
the nickel-cobalt laterite province first identified by the UNDP in
the period 1981 to 1986 and are adjacent to Geovic, one of the
world's larger primary Cobalt deposits. A recently completed airborne
survey suggests that the geology of Geovic extends to NiCo’s three
concessions. The permits are also near the very prospective iron ore
tenements held by Sundance.
The three contiguous permits are held by Resource
Capital Group Cameroon Ltd (RCGC), a subsidiary of NiCo Mining
Corp. NiCo is incorporated under the laws of the Province of Ontario. The permits cover approximately 2,800km2 and are 380km by
road from the capital Yaounde and 10km from the provincial town of
Lomie.
NiCo management have considerable expertise in
the resource industry and a proven track record of successfully
developing assets in West Africa over the past 20 years. Most
recently, Anthony Frizelle, Brian Hambleton-Jones and Laurie Mutch
successfully launched a uranium exploration initiative, Nu Energy
Uranium Corporation, to develop three highly prospective occurrences
in the Cameroon.
The Cameroon is regarded as having promising
mining opportunities and a political and social environment
conducive to successfully developing new ventures.
